The Way of Salvation
Salvation is God’s gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot earn eternal life by completing a list of good works. Scripture calls us to believe in Jesus, confess Him as Lord, repent of sin, and follow Him.
Believe and confess. Romans 10:9-10 teaches us to believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead and to confess Jesus as Lord.
Repent and turn toward God. Repentance means acknowledging our sin and turning away from it as we turn toward God and His will for our lives.
Be baptized in obedience to Christ. Baptism is an outward expression of faith and identification with Jesus. It is an important act of obedience, but it is not a work that earns salvation.
Walk in love. Love is not a payment for salvation. It is evidence of a life being transformed by Christ. Jesus teaches us to love God and to love one another, and our love should grow as our relationship with Him grows.
Beginning a relationship with Christ is not the end of the journey. It is the beginning of a new life. Seek the wisdom found in Scripture, spend time in prayer, and connect with a Bible-based church where you can learn, worship, serve, and grow alongside other believers.
Welcome to your new family!
Heavenly Father, I know that I have sinned and need Your forgiveness. I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sin and place my faith in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Help me follow You and live a life that honors You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
