Life is a journey filled with highs and lows, mountaintops and valleys, refreshing springs and dry deserts. However, for the one who trusts in God, this path is not marked by defeat, although it may feel that way at times. Psalm 84:7 reminds us that we are meant to go from strength to strength.
At first glance, that phrase might seem like a stretch. Life doesn’t always make us feel strong. There are dark valleys where hope feels distant and dry seasons where spiritual nourishment seems hard to come by. This reminds us that physically we may feel weak, but God will renew our strength Isaiah 40:31. Through every season, God is building us up. We are not going from weakness to strength, or barely getting by. We are going from strength to strength because God is our source.
Even in the shadows, we are growing. Even in the dryness, God provides hidden springs to sustain us. It is in those difficult moments, when we lean into His promises and cling to Him in faith, that our inner strength is revealed.
This passage reminds us that every step we take with God is a step forward. We are not stuck. We are being made stronger, prepared for the moment we will stand before God in Zion. Until that day, He is shaping us through every trial, every triumph, and every tear. Are you in a valley or a dry season, wondering if you are moving forward at all? Ask God to show you how He is growing your strength right now. You are stronger than you think! Giving your problems to God through prayer is a true sign of strength.
Prayer:
Our Father in Heaven, honor and praise to You. I know that at all times, even when I feel weak, You are strong. Thank You for giving me strength to continue. Continue to allow me to go from strength to strength. In Jesus' name. Amen
